An exceptionally fine pair of George II / III Irish Silver Wine Coasters pierced with vine and scrolling foliage. Engraved with original crest / armorial.
Made in Dublin c 1755-1760 by Andrew Goodwin.
These very fine coasters are amongst the earliest known wine coasters made in Dublin. Andrew Goodwin is considered one of the notable Irish silversmiths at this time. His workmanship always fine quality. Marks are excellent which is rare for wine coasters, as they normally receive considerable use.
