Conch Pearl and Diamond Ring

Superb antique diamond and conch pearl ring, circa 1890. Set on 18kt gold. Finger size G, we can adjust to fit most fingers. Conch pearls are the rarest type of pearl, although technically not a pearl! Produced by the gastropod Strombus gigas, conch pearls have no nacre. Instead, they contain the mineral aragonite, the principal constituent of nacre, in a different configuration.
