Important sapphire and diamond ring, French circa 1910. Set with a cushion cut sapphire (approx 1.2ct), SSEF report 122312 stating natural unheated and from Kashmir. In a diamond set panel, French platium hallmarks, and numbered inside the band, probably Boucheron.
Kashmir sapphires are the rarest in the world, prized for their colour and saturation. I have taken a few photos in different lighting to try and capture the colour, but it is much better in real life than my photographic abilities allow!
Original old jewellery with Kashmir sapphires are incredibly rare and sought after. This is the star piece in the shop, a magical piece of jewellery.
