Toi et Moi Ring

Toi et Moi is a French term meaning “you and me” and refers to a jewellery design featuring two principal gemstones arranged together.

The two stones are commonly positioned facing or flowing towards one another, traditionally symbolising two people united in love or partnership. The gemstones may be the same or different, although diamond combinations are particularly characteristic of antique and vintage examples.

Toi et Moi rings became especially popular during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and have remained an enduring style for engagement and dress rings.

The design can be found in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, with later examples continuing to reinterpret the traditional two-stone arrangement.
